This opportunity would be of interest to an ERB Professionally Registered Engineer with a minimum of 5-8 years’ experience on all Conceptual/Detail Design of Civil / Structural Engineering Projects, compiling and submission of efficient Engineering drawings and reports, monitoring of engineering construction on Site, collaboration with members of the Project Professional Team and the Client, adhering to project time frames and Client expectations, liaison with Product Suppliers, assisting with the preparation of Tender Documents, assisting with the measurement and compiling of Schedules of Quantities, control Drawing Records, assisting with the Archiving of Projects.
 
This position requires a hands-on Professional with excellent understanding of structural engineering first principles, proficiency in utilizing modern structural engineering software for analysis, design & drawing (3D Modelling – REVIT, etc), organize assigned work-flow with self-initiative, working independently with strong practical understanding, pro-active high-level thinking, attention to detail, possess strong leadership skills who is able to confidently and appropriately assert himself/herself, make prudent decisions and effectively solve problems. The candidate will be expected to manage & supervise technical staff, resolve conflict, deliver to deadlines; and maintain quality and ISO standards and procedures. This role will involve some regional travel.

This opportunity would be of interest to a professional ERB Registered Engineer with a minimum of 10 years’ proven experience in a Senior Management Role, preferably as company or departmental head, with the following competencies; leadership, team orientation, problem solving, initiative, motivational, customer service, business acumen, excellent strategic focus, multitasking ability.
 

Main Duties will include:

  • Lead the development of a Strategic Plan in alignment with the Company’s vision and mission and provide strategic direction alongside the Board for the Company’s Botswana and International operations.
  • Execution of business development and marketing strategy.
  • Manage the direction of the Company and lead Management in the pursuit of the Company’s short term and long-term goals.
  • Communicate and maintain relationships with Shareholders, business partners and authorities. Have excellent presentation skills. Be the public face of the company.
  • Develop sufficient profitable business for the Company to achieve income targets.
  • Oversee the Company’s financial performance, investments and other business ventures, through consultation with senior management.
  • Oversee expenditure of the Company and report on company performance to the Board, in line with approved budget(s).
  • Oversee the management of industry, market and Company-specific risks, so that the Company develops an approach to manage and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee internal controls and processes are in place and working effectively.
  • Oversee the development of key human resources policies and processes, as informed by senior management.
The successful candidate should hold BSC. / BEng. Minimum of 20 years post-graduate experience with a minimum of 10 years in a Senior Management Role. Post graduate management training will be an advantage.

Attractive terms and remuneration tied to 5yr renewable contracts and subject to company guidelines shall be discussed with the successful candidate.

This opportunity will be of interest to an experienced road, bridges, and related civil works Engineer with a minimum of 15-20 years of relevant post-graduate experience. The incumbent should be a registered professional engineer with ERB and capable of motivating and directing high-performance teams of technical specialists to meet tight deadlines with designs that conform to rigorous internationally accepted standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of business opportunities in the sector, preparation of detailed proposals, as well as design and construction management of transportation and infrastructure projects in Botswana and Africa.

The incumbent, working closely with the Executive Director Engineering Services will assist with strategic project implementation, tender submission, compliance with quality objectives, risk assessments and budget projections. Dealing with multiple stakeholders, delivering to deadlines and solving complex problems. The successful incumbent may serve as a Technical specialist, Project Leader or Senior Engineer for the company.

Dealing with multiple stakeholders, delivering to deadlines and solving complex problems. The successful incumbent may serve as a Technical Specialist, Project Leader, or Senior Engineer for the company.
 
These positions require a hands-on larger-than-life individual with strong leadership skills who is able to confidently and appropriately assert himself/herself, is emotionally intelligent, makes prudent decisions and effectively solve problems. A good appreciation of conducting an engineering consultancy business in the current and foreseeable markets is a strong prerequisite. The ideal candidate will be expected to manage & supervise staff, resolve conflict, have a working knowledge of contract law and financial reporting, deliver to deadlines in a high-pressure working environment; and maintain quality and ISO standards and procedures. These roles will involve international travel.
