Debswana Diamond Sorting House

introduction

Narrative Description of Project:

Structural:  High profile prestigious new diamond sorting building for Debswana. 3 storey building with underground basement. The building houses administrative offices, triple volume atrium and diamond sorting rooms that require 24m clear span floors. The design of these large span floors was further complicated by extremely stringent vibration requirements owing to the highly sensitive nature of the equipment used in the diamond sorting process.  The total floor area is approx. 30 000m2.

Civil:  The project consists of stormwater drainage, road works, water and sewer reticulation design for the development.

The project is complete and buildings handed over and occupied by DTC Botswana.
